It
is unlikely there could ever be enough original works from
Charles Billich to satisfy the demand.
The
Billich Gallery has always offered the artists work in a
variety of formats aside from the original to make his work
accessible to a wider range of people. There are very few
lithographic images left in the Billich collection. In 2002,
the Gallery committed a large range of works to be made
available in the highest standard of fine art reproduction
available anywhere.
This
unique, ultra high definition image rendering system is
carried out directly from Charles Billich original works.
Every piece is hand finished and signed by the artist coming
complete with certificate of authenticity and
official valuation from Billich Gallery.
The
limited editions from Billich Gallery are rendered to 100%
cotton rag archival paper with pigment based colourfast
inks. This combination carries an assurance that the paper
editions will remain stable for well in excess of 100 years
in museum display conditions.
The
most exciting products on offer in 2003 are our mixed media
renderings on canvas. To the beholder, these share the same
characteristics as an original oil with regard to texture,
colour depth and contrast. As each piece is hand finished
by the artist, a new work in effect is created. It will
differ slightly from the original oil yet still be hallmarked
by the artist in the same manner.
These
works also share the same canvas-on stretcher format synonymous
with original paintings. Care and preservation is substantially
easier due to the more durable image surface. They are light
in weight as there are no conventional mounts and glass.
